The African American singer-songwriter, composer and actor Johnny Nash was born John Lester Nash Jnr on the 19th August 1940 in Houston, Texas, USA. A highly talented singer of traditional popular music and in his mid-career Reggae. He is internationally known for his 1972, USA and UK hit I Can See Clearly Now, a massive chart busting hit record, and he was one of the first non-Jamaican singers to record Reggae music, in Kingston, Jamaica. This digitally remastered and enhanced CD compilation concentrates on his earlier career from 1956 to 1962, and his many chart entries in the USA in particular. There were more releases and successes notably, his biggest UK hit Tears On My Pillow, a number one UK hit in July 1975 on the UK Singles Chart. Johnny continued to record and perform into the late 1980s. Sadly Johnny Nash died on the 6th October 2020 at the age of 80, after a long and successful career.
