If indeed the oft stated correlation exists between music and mathematics, then Michael Hanna is yet another personification of that relationship. Even with a degree in engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and approximately 15 years tenure as a design engineer, Michael's microphone has never been more than a few inches away from his computer and utilized almost as often; in concerts, churches, and clubs. While growing up in a strong music and academic environment reinforced the interaction, it often simultaneously created some degree of conflict pulling him in two different directions. Fortunately for us he has arrived at the cited inherent harmony between the two. Michael is a vocal talent whose approach to a lyric attracts your attention even as it soothes, relaxes and embraces you. You feel included on his warm, sensual, musical journeys that revisit the past, dignify the present, and challenge the future. He displays emotional depth in his ballads and an easy swinging style that is a reminiscence that connects and satisfies. All in all, his is a talent that is as pleasing as a new-found friend and one with whom you will want to spend more quality time. It is therefore fitting that this, his debut album, is a gathering of Family and Friends. Sir Roland Hanna- Nothing in life is more important nor deserves more acknowledgement than the blessings of Faith, Family and Friends. They are what start us off, sustain us, and keep us going. By means of these I am able to here present to you my musical efforts with the hope that they will bring you even half the pleasure, satisfaction, and joy given to me. And I look forward to when we meet again.
